Colourpop End of Summer Sale Makeup Haul!

Happy Wednesday!

Since the start of September, I’ve been feeling really excited but also kind of bummed. I’m excited about the fall, pumpkin scented and flavored everything, nights by a crackling fire while sipping hot cocoa and the holidays, but at the same time I’m  bummed that the summer season is close to being over.

Probably one of the more disappointing aspects of summer being over is the end of bright, fun summer shades from our favorite makeup brands. To make way for the coming fall season, Colourpop one of my new absolute favorite affordable makeup brands, had an end of the summer sale a couple of weeks ago and I was able to stock up on some of the best summer shades for almost dirt cheap! Yay for Sales!

Colourpop End of Summer Sale Makeup Haul

When I caught wind of this sale, I immediately went browsing through the sale offerings a found a lot of gems. I picked up three Lippie Stixs, two Super Shock Eyeshadows, and two Lipsticks.Ultra Matte Liquid LipsticksIn total I spent about $34.

#1 Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks

You all know how much I love liquid lipsticks, so when I found that some of their gorgeous liquid lipsticks were on sale, I knew I had to snag some.

Chilly Chili – This was part of their summer collection, but I personally think of it as more of a fall shade because of it’s warm and rich brown tones.

Shimmy- I’ve always been a huge fan of pinks when it comes to lip colors and this one did not disappoint. It’s the perfect pinky nude which makes it great for everyday wear.

#2 Super Shock Eyeshadows

I saw swatches of these eyeshadows on Colourpops’ snapchat and fell in love with these shades. As you can probably tell by the picture, I have been getting a lot of wear out of them because they are so beautiful and highly pigmented.

Krinkle- By far my favorite of the two, this color is a beautiful teal color with a slight glittery/shimmery effect and it doesn’t take much of this shadow when applying. Love this one!

Cop-A-Feel- This shade is much more subtle than the other one but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t look beautiful on. It’s a perfect nude eyeshadow that can be used as a base or highlight….really the options are endless.

#3 Lippie Stix

These little gems are the real MVP’s because their design is so great that each one is very easy to apply without getting too much lipstick on the lips. And would you look at those hues! I MEANNNN…….

Fiesta – This shade is a nice coral color and it’s subtle enough to where it’s not too bright but also pigmented enough to notice the beauty of its hue.

Croquet- This shade is a sort of true pink color with a slight hint of red undertones.

Tickler- This is a VERY pigmented almost magenta pink color and it only takes a tiny bit of color when applying.

Total: $34

I don’t know about you, but Colourpop is quickly becoming one of my favorite affordable makeup brands! Let me know in the comments what you think about them!

Loreal Infallible Pro-Glow 24-Hour Foundation:

Okay, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard the hype about this product before and I can safely say that it’s not all hype…..it really is that good! I almost never buy drugstore foundations but when I heard people raving about it so much, I knew I had to try it out myself and I was so surprised by how much I like it! Covergirl Katy Kat Eye Waterproof Mascara:

When I saw Katy Perry’s new products in collaboration with Covergirl out in stores, I was a little surprised to be honest because I wasn’t even aware that she was coming out with products so I knew I had to grab one and give it a try. I love this mascara! The formula is great for curling and adding volume to the lashes and the wand has to be my favorite out there! It has just enough thickness and dynamic design to help achieve that great lash curl! Not to mention the fact that it didn’t smudge at all! Definitely, a mush try!

Cost: $8.99

Drugstore Beauty Favorites- $10 or Less!

Hey, guys!

It feels so strange typing this because as you may (or may not) have noticed, I’ve been absent from this blog for a little while, so I feel kind of rusty. To put it simply, I just really needed a break from blogging and I also had some other life events happening around the same time which needed my attention.

First of all, I just started school which I’m really excited about! I was sort of a late bloomer when deciding whether or not I wanted to go to college. Better late than never I guess!

Since I started school again, I’ve felt really overwhelmed by all the schoolwork so, my blog has taken a hit. I’m really sorry for that and I hope you do keep coming back because I promise, things are going to start getting back to normal around here soon!

Even though I haven’t really published a post in a while, I have been doing some behind the scenes work on new posts and content for the blog and that will all be coming very soon which I’m very excited about!

Without any further rambling, I’m just going to go ahead into this new post!

Drugstore Beauty Favorites- $10 or less!

Breakdown of the products:

As I’ve stated before, I’m all about saving money especially when it comes to beauty, and I really feel that you shouldn’t always have to shell out a pretty penny just to get a good beauty product so I’ve decided to share with you some of my favorite beauty bargain buys that I always run back to when I need a cheaper alternative to some of my favorite beauty products.

Drugstore Beauty Favorites- $10 or less!

Loreal Voluminous Superstar Waterproof –  This first product is my holy grail eyelash product that I use constantly and is totally worth the value! There’s actually a hack I have for using it to get a false lash look that I will be doing very soon so, be on the lookout for that!

Cost: $9.27

Drugstore Beauty Favorites- $10 or less!

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser-  I don’t know about you, but my pores are my biggest concern when it comes to my skin and I’ve still not found a great product for getting rid of them, but I have found a product that minimizes them and that’s what is great about this primer! If you’ve ever used the NYX pore filler or any of those other great primers at Ulta, then that will give you an idea of how this works and it’s cheap too!

Cost: $5.64

Drugstore Beauty Favorites- $10 or less!

NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator-  Speaking of NYX, their liquid illuminators range is a must try!  Is it just me or are highlighters really having a moment this summer?!? I’ve been using this in the color sunbeam and it gives a really good “glowing” effect to your skin that you really want in a highlighter. Um yeah….and it’s also cheap too!

Cost: $7.49

Drugstore Beauty Favorites- $10 or less!

Sinful Colors Kylie Jenner Denim and Bling Collection-  I’ve used the Sinful colors nail polish before and I’m kind of sort of in love with them. The collaboration they have with Kylie Jenner makes me love them even more because as we all know……girl has good taste! I picked up the color Hello Halo from the range and in my humble opinion, I think it’s the perfect shade of white! Perfect for summer!

Cost: $2.99

Drugstore Beauty Favorites- $10 or less!

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick-  Again from NYX (because they’re just that great), another great find is their matte liquid lipsticks range! I love a good matte liquid lipstick and the color range from NYX KILLS IT in this area! This particular one is in the color Tea & Cookies and it’s a nice pop of pink in matte form!

Cost: $6.99

Drugstore Beauty Favorites- $10 or less!

Wet N Wild Megalast Nail Polish –  I’m including another nail polish into this list because this one is my all time favorite from the drugstore! Not only is this nail polish very affordable and has the perfect nude and blush shades but the color payoff is amazing! This particular color is in the shade sugar coat.

Cost: $2.27

So those are some of my absolute favorite drugstore beauty products, let me know which ones are you favorite below!

My Favorite Line Of Liquid Lipsticks Is This Brand

When it comes to the lips, I’m a lipstick girl all the way. It’s not that lip glosses are any less effective at giving a beautiful lip color, it’s just that I don’t like the sticky feeling on my lips. Now that the geniuses behind beauty products have started creating liquid lipsticks, I feel I can have the best of both worlds without compromising my comfort.

Getting the chance to try out Studio Gears’ True Whipped Gloss Stain line, was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. While these are described as Whipped Gloss Stains’, I see them as more of liquid lipsticks because the colors rival that of other popular liquid lipsticks (ahem, you know the ones I’m talking about ;)) .

Before I get into the specifics of what you should know when researching this product, let’s just take a moment to appreciate their beauty.

My Favorite Liquid Lipsticks Are This Brand

Who Is Studio Gear?

If you’re not familiar with Studio Gear, they are a cosmetics company who believes that your makeup should work for you and they’ve formulated their products to be professional makeup artist quality but still accessible to all women through their own expression and confidence.

They have so many different products that are worth checking out as well such as foundations, concealers, primers, eyeshadows, mascaras, liners, blushes (& brushes) and even skincare products.

My Favorite Liquid Lipsticks Is This Brand

(My Favorite Shade// True Pebble)

My Favorite Liquid Lipsticks Is This Brand

(Second Favorite// True Fuchsia) see at the bottom for all shade names.

What Do I Think?

I’ll be honest with you, when I first opened these glosses and took them out of their pretty little packaging, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of these glosses because I didn’t think they were going to come in such a big size. I mean, they aren’t huge but they’re a nice size for the amount of product you get.

I also love how sleek the packaging is. I’ve seen a lot of glosses that might have a great formula, but the design of the packaging is awful. Studio Gears’ nailed their design. It’s pretty evident in the pictures just how good it looks.

Another pleasant surprise that I didn’t see coming was the fact that all of the shades are highly pigmented. Oh, and I Love, LOVE the fact that shade you see on the packaging and outside the box are exactly Identical, so you know what you’re getting.

My Favorite Liquid Lipsticks Is This Brand

How Does It Wear?

Whenever I read reviews on products a lot of times I tend to skip straight to the part of the review where you find out whether or not the product works as described. I’m sure that’s why you came to this section as well, so I’ll cut to the chase. Here’re the positives:

  • Easy application
  • SUPER- pigmented
  • Long- lasting (no really!)
  • Velvety texture
  • Nice color range

Negatives:

  • A tad bit drying
  • Price point is not my favorite

I thought I would elaborate a little bit more on each point of interest. So for the positives, let’s start with the easy application. When I said I was a lipstick girl earlier, there still is a downside to applying with regular lipsticks. The sticks tend to be too wide which makes it hard to apply in very narrow corners of the lips.

With the liquid lipsticks and this brand, in particular, the doe foot applicator makes narrow corners or any other hard to reach corners easy to get to. No more uneven lipstick! Win!Win!

Pigmentation is so important when it comes to makeup because if it takes more application of a product to get visible color, then you end up running out of the product quicker than you should and that’s another thing that makes me love these glosses!

I’m sure duration is super important to you when it comes to lipstick. You’ve found exactly that with these glosses and I say that with the utmost sincerity because I’ve been applying these glosses early in the morning every day and by 5 p.m. there’s still color present. Yes, it may not be as apparent as when you originally applied it, but there will still be visible remnants of a stain which is kind of what this gloss is anyway.

Ok lastly, let’s talk about the velvet texture and color range I spoke about earlier. When I said that these glosses have a velvet texture, I was referring to how matte they are. I myself prefer a matte lipstick over one with sheen. I know this may seem insignificant to some, but it’s a top priority on my go to makeup list.

As far as the negatives go, I said that these glosses can be a tad bit drying, but I made sure to say tad bit because they aren’t drying enough that I would rant about it. They aren’t super moisturizing but they do feel silky with only a slight bit of drying feeling. If you want to read about the price, then skip to the next part.

My Favorite Liquid Lipsticks Are This Brand

I Bet You Want To Know About The Price…..

I couldn’t end a review without mentioning the price because if you look at all my other posts and my about page, you’ll see that having affordable beauty options is one of my main goals. Yes, I listed the price as a negative when I listed the positives and negatives, however, I decided to go ahead and add these on my blog because Studio Gear is actually going to give all Echanning readers a discount for buying their first product, (skip below for coupon code) so I feel it fits perfectly with my blog values.

Price: $17.00

Two Nude Eyeshadow Palettes That Are Cheap!

What’s one thing all beauty-obsessed women have in their arsenal? A nude palette. That’s what.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of years, you’ve probably heard a beauty blogger or beauty YouTuber talk about their love of nude palettes. The nude palettes that all seem to rave about, Urban Decay’s Naked, Bobbi Brown’s Nude on Nude palette, or Maybelline’s the nudes might all come to mind.

While I LOVE all of these brands and hope to own them all one day, let’s be real here. Some of us can’t afford to shell out those kinds of price tags very often. I budget, ALL. The. Time. Rarely do I ever have tons of money left over after all the essentials are paid, to be spending on those high-priced versions.

Over the years, I’ve become super money savvy when it comes to beauty, just take a look at these nails I did for example. So If you are SICK & TIRED OF PAYING FULL PRICE FOR A GREAT NUDE PALETTE, then this post is for you.

I’ve found two eyeshadow palettes that are just as good as those pricier ones, but for a 1/8th of the price!

Two Nude Eyeshadow Palettes That Are Cheap!

Two Eyeshadow Palettes That Are Cheap!

Two Nude Eyeshadow Palettes That Are Cheap!

The nude palettes I’m talking about are the L.A. Colors Day To Night eyeshadow palettes.

The first eyeshadow palette, Daylight, has a lot of warm colors such as rose, bronze, sand, and some great night looks as well with purples, and coppers and dark browns.

The second palette, Dawn, has a lot of nice rosy colors with hints of metallic, teal, deep purples, and some smokey colors such as deep browns and silvers.

What I like About These Palettes…..

So apart from the price, which I’ll talk more about in a minute, my favorite thing about these palettes is the variety of smokey/nude colors that make it easy for you to go from day to night, hence the name of them.

I also like the fact that they tend to stay on all day and pair great with subtle and even statement makeup looks.

What I don’t Like About These Palettes……

While the price is great (more info in a minute), the downside to these palettes is that it takes A LOT of product to get a more noticeable color payoff. Some of the shades aren’t pigmented enough to be used in a look, so I mostly use those for highlighters on my brow bone.

I also wish the packaging was a lot more practical. The top of the palette clicks too tightly together with the bottom part, which makes it hard to open. Other than those two things….. I would say these palettes are fairing very well!

How Much Does It Cost & Where Can I buy Them?

The BEST NEWS  you’ll probably hear in a long time is that these eyeshadows are super cheap! I got both of mine from the Dollar General for $1 a piece. Yep! You heard that right! A DOLLAR A PIECE!

As far as where you can buy them, I went to their website and found some more places you can buy them at besides Dollar General. They’re listed below.

Get Great Brows With Billion Dollar Brows

Brows have had a pretty big comeback lately. Not that they gone anywhere, lol, but our focus on perfecting them has increased exponentially this year. Take Cara Delevingne for instance. We were obsessed with her brow game as soon as she came onto our radars. Great brows aren’t hard to achieve, you just need the right kit.

“On Fleek” became synonymous with having great brows. Thick but manicured were ideal. I quickly learned that over-plucking existed and I was definitely guilty of it.

Brows are great because they frame your face and can enhance your eyes. Which is probably the reason we put so much effort into making them look good. I’ve been to numerous salons and brow-professionals to get a nice brow but always leave feeling unhappy with the outcome, so I’ve learned on my own how to tweeze and fill them in.

My brow regime has gotten just a little bit better thanks to a little product called Billion Dollar Brows. I was kindly sent their best seller kit and their 60 seconds to beautiful brow kit.

I like the fact the Universal Brow Pencil is mechanical so you can be sure that you don’t run out of product, however I don’t know that I would agree that it works with all skin types and hair colors, because this color was a little too dark for my brows. Other than that it was easy to apply and glided well.

Just like any great brow look the highlighter and concealer do a great job of putting focus on the brows themselves by subtly drawing light towards them. This highlighter and concealer duo work great where that is concerned and the once you’ve applied both, you then use the smudge brush to blend them in which makes them look really natural.

Finally, I brushed the brow gel on my brows to set them in place and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with how well this worked. My brows didn’t have a single hair out of place. This was probably my favorite product of all of them.

In the 60 second kit, I found it very quick and easy to do my brows using the brow powder and filling in the sparse areas. The spoolie was a great addition to this dual ended brush has it helped to brush the hairs into place while filling them in.

Would I change anything about this product? Well, yes, sort of. The only thing I really think needs changing is to make the universal brow pencil a smidgen lighter. Otherwise I was very satisfied with this product.

If you’re interested in purchasing this product, you can click any of the links in my post to be directed to their website. Also I want to mention that Billion Dollar Brows is doing a giveaway for the holidays, so if your interested in winning one of these as a gift, then you can enter here.

Thanks for reading and leave me a comment below telling me your brow routine? Don’t forget to enter the giveaway as well!
