Opening The December Jingle Vox Box

As December comes to a close, I want to share with you some of the things I received in my Influenster Jingle VoxBox. It’s always nice to receive “gifts” in the mail, but it’s especially nice when it’s around Christmas time and Influenster didn’t disappoint with this Christmas themed VoxBox.

This months VoxBox was filled with everything from good things to eat, to makeup and skincare products, to cute little stuffed animated toys.

If you’re unfamiliar with what Influenster or a VoxBox is, then you’re in for a treat. Influenster is a campaign program where anyone who loves trying out new products or reviewing them can join and receive free products in what’s called a VoxBox once they’ve completed their survey questions. Influenster then matches you with the right VoxBox campaign that fits closely with the questions you’ve answered.

In this box Jingle Vox Box are….

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

I love this cream because it’s great for sensitive skin and it really moisturizes well. I usually apply it before bed or if my skin is feeling particularly dry, I will apply it a couple of hours before doing my makeup.

Biscoff Cookies

If you’ve ever tried traditional cookie butter, then you have an idea what this cookie tastes like. I’m not typically one to go for hard cookies but pair these with some milk and they make a nice little treat.

Ore-Ida Tater Tots

I know you’re probably wondering, “where are the cookies?”, in this box you receive a coupon for a free bag of these and all you have to do is go to the grocery store and pick it up. I haven’t picked mine up yet, but will definitely be doing so next time I’m at the store.

Hallmark Itty Bitty’s

Bascially, what these are, are these little miniature stuffed animals made after your favorite animated characters for example.. I received the Olaf one from the insanely popular Frozen films. These are so cute and the perfect gift or stocking stuffer for your little ones.

NYC City Proof 24Hr Waterproof Eyeliner

What I love about this eye liner is the fact that it’s waterproof because none of us want to have our makeup run when we get sweaty or wet. The pencil I received came in the color dark brown, which is perfect for me because black tends to look a little too harsh on my eyes.

KISS True Volume Lashes

I don’t typically wear lashes everyday because I feel like I should save them for special occasions, but I did try the ones that came in my VoxBox today and I was really happy with how natural they looked. Mine were called chic and they blended in perfectly with my natural lashes.

KISS Strip Lash Adhesive With Aloe

There’s two good things about this glue. First, is the fact that it’s made with aloe and prevents irritation which is obviously great. Second is that the glue holds the lashes very well. However, the bad thing about this glue is that it’s black and messy and gets all over everything. I guess I squeezed the tube a little too hard or something, because it shot out of the tube and got all over my clothes and me and stained my clothes black.

Pure Ice Nail Polish

I’ve tried pure ice nail polishes in the past and I love their color ranges. The only problem I’ve found with these polishes is that they don’t last very long. I received the color french kiss which you can tell by the photo above is a dark blue color. I applied this nail polish and the next day it started chipping. That really bugs me!

Get Great Brows With Billion Dollar Brows

Brows have had a pretty big comeback lately. Not that they gone anywhere, lol, but our focus on perfecting them has increased exponentially this year. Take Cara Delevingne for instance. We were obsessed with her brow game as soon as she came onto our radars. Great brows aren’t hard to achieve, you just need the right kit.

“On Fleek” became synonymous with having great brows. Thick but manicured were ideal. I quickly learned that over-plucking existed and I was definitely guilty of it.

Brows are great because they frame your face and can enhance your eyes. Which is probably the reason we put so much effort into making them look good. I’ve been to numerous salons and brow-professionals to get a nice brow but always leave feeling unhappy with the outcome, so I’ve learned on my own how to tweeze and fill them in.

My brow regime has gotten just a little bit better thanks to a little product called Billion Dollar Brows. I was kindly sent their best seller kit and their 60 seconds to beautiful brow kit.

I like the fact the Universal Brow Pencil is mechanical so you can be sure that you don’t run out of product, however I don’t know that I would agree that it works with all skin types and hair colors, because this color was a little too dark for my brows. Other than that it was easy to apply and glided well.

Just like any great brow look the highlighter and concealer do a great job of putting focus on the brows themselves by subtly drawing light towards them. This highlighter and concealer duo work great where that is concerned and the once you’ve applied both, you then use the smudge brush to blend them in which makes them look really natural.

Finally, I brushed the brow gel on my brows to set them in place and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with how well this worked. My brows didn’t have a single hair out of place. This was probably my favorite product of all of them.

In the 60 second kit, I found it very quick and easy to do my brows using the brow powder and filling in the sparse areas. The spoolie was a great addition to this dual ended brush has it helped to brush the hairs into place while filling them in.

Would I change anything about this product? Well, yes, sort of. The only thing I really think needs changing is to make the universal brow pencil a smidgen lighter. Otherwise I was very satisfied with this product.

3 Christmas Cookie Ideas For The Holidays

Wow! Christmas is LITERALLY right around the corner & that means it’s time for Christmas cookies!

If you’re like me and this year went by to fast for you, then you’re probably just as shocked as me to know that Christmas will be here soon. Which means less time to shop and less time in general for other things. Cookie swapping is a nice tradition that a lot of us partake in this time of year and it’s a nice way of saying I appreciate you.

I give out cookies to people I love and care about regardless of a cookie swap because I want to show them how much they mean to me and nothing is more genuine, from me, than a freshly baked cookie because I pour my heart into baking. I carefully plan out what I’m going to make and for who and I spend hours, sweating it out in a hot kitchen trying to make the perfect treat.

I know I’m probably not the first person to share their cookie recipe since the start of this holiday season, but I thought I would put my two cents in as well!

3 Christmas Cookie Ideas For The Holidays

For the first cookie I went with an Iced Star Sugar cookie, which was a pretty obvious choice given that iced sugar cookies are pretty popular this time of year. Actually, this was supposed to be a snowflake instead of a star, but the cookie cutter I used obviously didn’t produce the results I’d hoped for. 😦

For the second cookie, I used my favorite holiday drink as the foundation for this cookie. Egg nog is not your typical fave holiday drink and actually A LOT of people really don’t like it, however I really do. It’s definitely an indulgent drink and in my opinion is not meant to be drunk regularly. If you don’t like egg nog, then following along the lines of holiday drinks, you could do the traditional hot cocoa or and apple cider version.

Last but not least is the Salted Caramel cookie. This one was definitely my favorite and you can never go wrong with a dessert that has the words salted and caramel in it’s name. Fun fact (if you didn’t already know) : salt brings out the sweetness of a dessert really well, so even though I already had salted caramel in these cookies I added a little extra sea salt on top just to really bring it home.

3 Foundations: Which One Is Best?

Finding a good foundation is like finding that “perfect” pair of jeans. It’s almost impossible and can take years upon years to find one that fits you best. This is the problem I have with foundations. Each one individually has a certain set of qualities that make it good but not necessarily great.

When I find one I like, I usually stick to it. I have tried many different foundations but only a few have made my list of top foundations and I’m gonna try and do the impossible in this post; I’m gonna try it pick out a favorite out of the three. Bear with me here, as this will be difficult because all three of these foundations are really great.

Tarte Amazonian Clay

This first one I bought for the first time a couple of years ago and I fell in love with it. I love the coverage it provides and it lasts for at least 8 hours.

It does start to fade until around the 9 hour mark, so it doesn’t fully live up to it’s 12 hour promise, but if you ask me, 8 hours is long enough. I also like the fact that they offer a wide variety of shades, so picking the right color isn’t too difficult.

The one downside to this foundation is that it can be a little “cakey” at times, so if your looking for something natural looking, then you don’t need to try this foundation. However, if you do have major skin issues and want better coverage, then this is the foundation for you!

Too Faced- Born This Way

I bought this foundation a few months ago after having asked the girl at the Ulta counter what type of foundation she used because her makeup looked flawless!

The first time I tried it, I was very happily surprised at how great it made my skin look. This was the first foundation I tried that provided full coverage, but wasn’t “cakey”. It goes on very thin and is build-able enough so that you can have as much coverage without looking like you have too much on. It’s also great for dry skin because it gives that dewy skin look.

The only downside to this foundation is that they don’t offer enough different shades, which makes it harder to find a shade that matches. I have very pale skin in the winter, and I went with the lightest shade they have (Porcelain) and it was still too dark. If they could find a solution to this problem, I would love it so much!

Nars Sheer Glow

Lastly, I recently purchased this foundation after going back and forth trying out the samples. I really liked the sample and decided to take the plunge and buy it.

Ok, so I know a ton of people love Sheer Glow and swear by it, but for me personally I’m not too impressed. Let me start off with the positive.

The shade I purchased (Siberia) matched my skin PERFECTLY which almost never happens, so I was so excited about that. However, I wasn’t too happy about the coverage. Not only did it make my dry skin look even drier, but it was very spotty.

I’m also not excited about the packaging, but that’s probably because I’m impartial to foundations with pumps.

All in all, I would say that if you want minimal coverage and don’t have dry skin, this is perfect for you. If not, steer clear.

Final Verdict?

If I could combine all three foundations, I would have the perfect foundation, but obviously I can’t so I can’t choose a best one. I think they are all great in certain ways and I will probably suggest using them on separate occasions. I hope you found this review helpful and leave me a comment below telling me what your favorite foundation is and why, because I might want to try it out. Thanks for reading!
